Move money between jars
A kid can move money out of Spend, and from Save into Give. It never goes back into Spend. Grown-ups use a transfer instead.

This is for the kid moving money between their own three jars, and for the grown-up whose version of the move works differently.
The three moves a kid can make
A kid can move money three ways: Spend to Save, Spend to Give, and Save to Give. The app states the rule directly: “Money can move out of Spend, and from Save into Give. It cannot go back into Spend.”
Do it
To move money:
- Go to Jars, or open the Spend or Save jar.
- Tap “Move money”. The Give jar has no such button, because nothing moves out of Give.
- Pick a direction: “Spend → Save”, “Spend → Give” or “Save → Give”.
- Type the amount on the keypad. “Most you can move:” shows the jar’s current balance; going past it shows “That is more than the jar holds.”
- Tap “Move {amount} to {bucket}”.
There is no note field on this screen.
Grown-ups
A grown-up moves money with a transfer from the Accounts side instead, which is not limited to the three kid directions. When either account is a kid’s jar, the form also asks whether this is a “Standard transfer” or a “Jar move”. A transfer is not spending, and it never touches a budget category.
