Reset your password

Ask for a reset link from the sign-in screen, choose a new password within the hour, and sign back in on every device.

Last updated 23 Sep 2026

This is for the grown-up who cannot remember their password.

To request a reset:

  1. On the sign-in screen, tap “Forgot password?”.
  2. On “Reset your password”, enter your address in the email field.
  3. Tap “Send reset link”.

The screen then shows the same confirmation whether or not that address has an account: if it does, a reset link is on its way. The app never says which it was, so the address cannot be used to check who has signed up. “Back to sign in” takes you back.

The message is titled “Reset your CubbyJar password” and carries a “Reset password” button. The link works for 1 hour and can be used once. If you did not ask for it, ignore it; nothing changes until the link is used.

Choose a new password

The link opens “Choose a new password”:

  1. Enter a “New password”. It needs at least 10 characters; there are no other rules.
  2. Tap “Update password”.
  3. When the screen reads “Password updated. Sign in again.”, tap “Sign in”.

Every device signs out

A reset is what people do when they are worried someone else has their password, so the app treats it that way: every session on every device ends when the new password is saved. Sign in again on each phone or computer you use. If the link was used before your address was confirmed, following it confirms the address as well.

Kids do not have passwords

A kid signs in with the family code, their username and a PIN, and the app never shows the current PIN. If a kid forgets theirs, a grown-up sets a new one with “Reset PIN” from More › “Manage family”; see Reset a kid’s PIN or change their details.

If you are setting up from scratch rather than getting back in, start with Set up your household.
